About London and its gay life

With a population of 8 million, London is the second largest metropolis in Europe and the largest in Western Europe. The cultural, ethnic, religious and economic background of its population is one of the most diverse worldwide.

London's gay scene is like a mirror of all that: it is huge, ever-changing and extremely diverse. There are the cafes, bars and shops of a classic gay village in London-Soho and the party temples for shirt-off clubbers in the railway arches of London-Vauxhall. There is the amateur strip contest in a East End pub and the newest R'n'B night in a West End club. The oldest gay pub in South London hosts British queer comedy and drag shows, while Islington in North London has the newest chic & gay-friendly restaurant with international cuisine. We have seen club legends such as the G-A-Y, Fridge, Trade, DTPM and Crash come and go and influence the memories of generations.
