Beaches in and around Valencia

Miles long, spacious city beach with lots of beach restaurants.
This beach doesn't have a gay beach section, but the northern – and quieter – part (Playa de la Malvarrosa) is popular with water sports enthusiast, individualists and gays.

South of Valencia there is another miles long beach from the village of Pinedo down to Saler and beyond. On the first kilometres with promenades for pedestrians and bicyclists, incl. beach restaurants and sanitary facilities.

This beach is much quieter than the city beach up north, but it also takes longer to reach the beach. If you don't have a bicycle (tip!) or a car, you can take bus number 14 or 15 which go from the city center through the suburbs of Valencia to Pinedo and take 40-50 minutes. (Note: bus line 14 divides into two destinations, so make sure you use only the busses with destination Pinedo.)

The gay beach section is situated about half-way between Pinedo and Saler, next to an abandoned factory site behind the dunes. (In 2013, the only leftovers were the walls and the tall chimney stack – which can be seen afar and used to easily find the gay beach.)
